Happy 2009!

Wow, can you believe 2009 is here? We had a fun evening here last night. All the kids except Shayla were here. We ate pizza, watched movies, played with sparklers (I think Karen will post pictures later) and just generally had a good time.

I just wanted to post a picture of my little project. I decided that my vacation was a good time to build a train layout for our Christmas tree. I'm building it in four sections that will surround the tree. Here is a picture of the first section in progress:

This is the simplest section which, eventually, will have two bridges and two tunnels. I hope to have it complete with realistic winter scenery long before I need it next Christmas. The train is an N-scale model (the cars are about 3/4" wide and about 3" long) that I have had for a long time, but have never built a layout for it.
